t.i.o.t

What happens to ‘thinking’ (a deeply physical experience of thought) when you offer prolonged stretches of focused attention, an absence of intention to compose the coherent. How might i mobilise uncertainty by using the studio as provocateur? (uncertainty intrigues me for it might reveal a secret!)

AR-t.i.o.t -Most residencies are away travelling different locations & new environments. I have spent years looking through the how & why of the way experiences influence my thoughts,  work  & visa versa. Not surprisingly it’s a unique perspective…. any interior observations will view perspectives as same, odd, different or down right weird…. look around….it’s clear

How might my image route hinge itself on the uncertain, random, arbitrary & unpredictable choices? How might t.i.o.t shape directions informed by everyday, materials & process? (Everyday defined here as work because of everyday, the glow of the grime). Not just any thought!

Can I for now live without the answers?

A life of making isn’t a series of shows, or projects, or productions, or things: it is an everyday practice. It is a practice of questions more than answers, of waiting to find what you need more often than knowing what you need to do. Waiting, like listening and meandering, is best when it is an active and not a passive state.” (Ann Hamilton Making Not Knowing)
